I proposed a cross gable roof with the room in the loft to be located above the kitchen diner (which the family wanted as their main family space), to have large gable wall and have bifold doors to open up the kitchen onto the rear patio.
The same glazing continues to first floor and provides views of the rear garden into the bedroom.
